Alchemy | A short DANCE FILM

Stories that aren't true to who we are feel like lead.
Where do you look to learn about the influences that shape your reality?

In your thoughts?
Your DNA?
Physical sensations?
History?
Cultural narratives?
The cosmos?

In my experience, space and time are not linear and a single story could never allow us to understand ourselves in the way we crave to be understood. Instead, we must dissolve, cleanse, ferment, awaken, transmute, and begin to crystalize until our story is no longer writing us - we are writing it.

SCREENINGS + FACILITATED DISCUSSIONS

This film is meant to exist as more than a piece of art to view, but as an avenue for opening dialogue around the questions that went into my exploration.

If you are interested in hosting a 60-90 minute screening + facilitated dialogue, please book a call with me to discuss the context. See below for some of the people and places that have hosted so far.

Let’s become the sculptors of our own stories!

BAZA Screens Dance Films

BAZA Screens Dance Films continues with its third edition — Movement & Voice — an evening of seven short dance and experimental films from around the world, plus two surprise videos of historic works by artists working with dance and voice.

How does a body speak? What happens when movement meets poetry, song, memory, and storytelling? The selected films move between forbidden love, disappearing rituals, family histories, our relationship with nature, and the stories we tell ourselves. From a search for gestures lost through technology to a hip-hop music video, this program brings together very different ways of giving the body a voice.
