Challenge

Demonstrate Dance Wire's role as an organization that uses it's platform to gather, connect, and uplift the dance community of Portland.

Idea

Form a cypher-style circle - an environment common in many styles of dance - where dancers rotate into the center to share movement while the surrounding community responds with energy and support. Each dancer contributed a voiceover reflecting on the meaning of dancing in community.

Outcome

The film captured the universal language of dance as a shared experience showing how movement, rhythm, and collective energy create connection across styles, cultures, and backgrounds.

Focus

• Invite people to witness and experience dance in Portland

• Validate the expression of all different styles of dance

• Use dance to serve a greater purpose of connection and community.
